The app offers the option to purchase "Localyte cards," which are redeemable at participating small and local businesses. These cards serve as both gift cards and store cards, allowing consumers to buy goods and services from the merchants. Merchants can utilize the cards for promotional discounts or loyalty programs. In contrast to community cards and other open-loop card solutions, the funds are not held in an escrow account. Instead, the proceeds are transferred directly to the merchant upon purchase, providing immediate cash flow especially crucial during the economic downturn caused by the pandemic.

All purchased store cards are conveniently consolidated within the app, streamlining the user experience by eliminating the need for multiple applications. A unified QR code is employed for redeeming all Localyte cards, simplifying the process by removing the necessity of identifying separate QR codes for each merchant. To redeem, merchants only need to scan the QR code to complete the transaction.

Users have the ability to create a new username or password or connect with alternate accounts such as Apple ID for easy access.

The app can be integrated with Apple Pay or a credit card for seamless store card purchases. Payment methods can be securely stored and managed to prevent repetitive entry of credit card details for each transaction.
